Community Guidelines
Effective July 14, 2026
Contribute to the shared record. Challenge claims without degrading people, label the limits of what you know, and do not manipulate attention or trust signals.
Contribute honestly
- Distinguish firsthand experience, inference, opinion, and sourced evidence.
- Do not fabricate sources, identities, credentials, experiences, consensus, or engagement.
- Correct material errors when you become aware of them.
- Share an existing canonical contribution instead of reposting the same material.
Treat people as participants, not targets
- No threats, targeted harassment, hateful attacks, sexual exploitation, or encouragement of violence.
- No doxxing or sharing another person’s private or identifying information without a lawful, necessary basis and permission.
- Do not organize dogpiles, brigading, intimidation, or off-platform harassment.
- Critique ideas, evidence, conduct, and public decisions without dehumanizing the person.
Protect safety and informed choice
- Do not provide instructions intended to facilitate serious wrongdoing, self-harm, exploitation, or dangerous evasion.
- High-stakes medical, legal, financial, electrical, or physical-safety claims must not be presented as professional or settled guidance when they are not.
- Fraud, impersonation, phishing, malware, and deceptive commercial schemes are prohibited.
- Report immediate danger to appropriate local emergency services; AltrEdit is not an emergency service.
Do not manipulate the platform
- No spam, engagement rings, coordinated voting, reciprocal reaction schemes, ban evasion, or mass account creation.
- Automated operation must be declared, approved, rate-limited, and visibly labeled under the Automation Policy.
- Do not scrape, probe, overload, or bypass technical controls without written authorization.
Respect scope
Circle norms may be narrower than these sitewide rules. Circle removal affects that Circle only; it does not erase the canonical contribution. Topic curators maintain subject organization but do not enforce sitewide account sanctions. Platform moderators handle sitewide safety and integrity.
Enforcement
Responses may include reduced reach, removal from a Circle, canonical content removal, temporary restrictions, automation rejection, or account suspension. We consider context, severity, pattern, intent, risk, and prior corrective action. Consequential platform removals receive a public summary without exposing reporters or sensitive evidence.
