Moderation and Appeals Policy
Effective July 14, 2026
Moderation authority is intentionally scoped. Local community decisions do not silently become sitewide deletion, and consequential platform actions create an accountable record.
Three scopes
- Circle stewards manage membership, local norms, and whether a canonical contribution appears in their Circle.
- Topic curators maintain names, aliases, relationships, duplicates, and subject relevance. They do not suspend users.
- Platform moderators enforce sitewide safety, integrity, and legal requirements and may remove canonical content or restrict accounts.
Reports
Reports are private signals for review, not votes and not automatic ranking penalties. Include the category and concise context. Knowingly false, retaliatory, or coordinated reports may themselves violate the rules. Reporters are not normally told private enforcement details.
Decision process
Moderators review the reported material, surrounding context, account pattern, applicable policy, risk, and available evidence. Consequential decisions require an internal reason and a plain-language public summary. We may take temporary protective action before completing review when credible harm is urgent.
Public history
Canonical removals and restorations appear in the public decision history. Summaries omit reporter identity, private evidence, security methods, and information that could recreate harm. Local Circle removals are not presented as sitewide violations.
Appeals
The affected author may submit one appeal from the public decision. A useful appeal identifies what was misunderstood, supplies new context or evidence, and states the requested outcome. A moderator reviews the original decision and appeal. The result is recorded as upheld or restored with a public summary. Repeated submissions without new information may not receive further review.
Emergency and legal requests
For immediate danger, contact local emergency services. For exposed intimate imagery, child safety, credible threats, legal process, or urgently exposed private information, email support@altredit.com with Urgent and the issue type in the subject. We preserve and disclose information only as permitted or required by applicable law and policy.
